‘Do we have a soul?’, ‘What happens when we die?’ These are the kinds of question we ask ourselves all the time as children.

Covering ideas from philosophers such as Bergson, Plato and St. Augustine, Ash and Trumbull revisit this metaphysical domain, exploring how memory shapes consciousness; whether we have a soul; and what the concept of the soul might mean today, in an era when machines are increasingly seen as approaching intelligence.
